At just 15, Layla I-Yanna showed poise and passion beyond her years as she performed her original song “Unfortunate Sunshine” at the 2nd Annual Reggae & Food Festival in Palm Bay, Florida.
A member of Special Listenings Sound, Layla is not only a singer but a young DJ carrying forward the spirit of roots music. Her father, Ras Jamal of Royal Ethiopian Sound, stood proudly behind the turntables, backing her with seamless riddims and pure parental vibes.
Her performance of “Unfortunate Sunshine” was one of the day’s most heartfelt moments — a reminder that reggae’s future is in good hands.
